Welcome to the Amherst Education Foundation

The Amherst Education Foundation, Inc. is an independent, non-profit education fund committed to stimulating excellence, promoting equity, enhancing diversity and mobilizing broad community support for the public schools of Amherst, Leverett, Pelham, and Shutesbury. Our supporters include businesses, parents and other concerned citizens
who share the belief that strong public schools are essential to a
thriving town.

Make It Happen
AEF activities include the following programs and events:

• School Grants to support quality in education, most recently for science, music and art curricula, as well as enhanced library services;
• IDEs Grants (Innovation, Diversity and Equity) to teachers, other school staff and parent groups;
• Joint AEF/PTO Initiatives to support the fundraising goals of school parent groups (see our Donate section for specific projects);
• Affirmative Action Initiatives including a focus on the recruitment and retention of school staff of color;
• Our annual Trivia Bee, which takes place every fall at the beginning of the school year; and
• Our annual spring Awards and Donor
Recognition Reception.

The joint AEF/PTO Initiatives listed on AEF's
website are revolving; once a project is fully funded, another can take its place. So check back often for new donation opportunities!
